Program Overview

Spend your summer making a global impact through teaching, cultural exchange, and professional development. The American Education Ambassador Program offers a unique opportunity to teach university students in China while earning a 120-hour TEFL Certification—with major expenses fully covered.

• Duration: 3-6 weeks (June - July)
• Locations: Major cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, and other metropolitan centers
• Teaching Schedule: Monday – Friday (Weekends free for exploration)
• Students: University students studying on their own campus locations
• Program Organizers: U.S. Chinese Culture Center (Columbia, South Carolina, USA) in partnership with leading universities and schools in China
• Program Fee: $1,550
• Note: Effective May 19, 2025, visa application fees and visa service fees are separate from our program fee. We continue to provide expert guidance through the visa application process.

Local sponsors provide the following at no additional cost:

• FREE hotel stay or furnished campus housing
• FREE meals during camp sessions
• FREE local sightseeing and cultural tours

Who Should Apply

We welcome educators who are passionate about cultural exchange and international education:

• College graduates with teaching experience
• Certified teachers, professors, or education professionals
• Ages 21-66
• Native English speakers in good health
• Strong leadership, communication, and cultural engagement skills

TEFL Training Structure

Our comprehensive 120-hour TEFL certification prepares you for success in the classroom:

• 40-hour accredited online TEFL coursework
• 80-hour supervised TEFL teaching internship
• Pre-departure training in Chinese language basics
• Cultural orientation covering Chinese customs and etiquette
• Overview of the Chinese education system and classroom practices

Upon completion, you will receive a 120-hour co-branded TEFL certificate from Bridge (with USCCC logo), an internationally recognized credential.

Academic Credit (Optional)

Eligible participants may earn 3 academic credit hours, which may be applied toward:

• Continuing Education
• Summer Internship or Independent Study
• Study Abroad / International Studies
• Education, Teaching, or Social Work
• Political Science, Government, Asian Studies, or Chinese Language

(Credit approval subject to home institution policies.)
